I am using Dell 30" 3007WFP at 2560x1600.
I am watching it from 3 feet away, 8
hours a day. Very good for working.
Doesn't work with PS3, but I am not sure about
the newer 3008WFP tho.

P.S. Viewing distance suggestion is base on the
   the resuluton you set. 1080P is about 5 feet
   away. So 2560x1600 is about 3 feet away.
   If you find it's not confortable to view in such
   close distance, darken the monitor's brightness.

In this case you shoud get the HANNS.G 28" and set the resolution to 1920x1200 ( native ),
font size will be fair large. Or you can get the Dell 30" and set the the resolution to 1280x720
(single-link native resolution ), so that the font size will be really huge. If you set the Dell 30"
to the dual-link native resolution ( 2560x1600 ) font size will be really small. I set my DPI to 120%
on Dell 30", but some program's font doesn't effect by DPI, which remain the font really small.
I just ordered a HANNS.G 28" for my second monitor. If you can wait a week longer, I can do a
side by side font size comparison in photo for you to decide.

另外再強調...若覺得字太小不是調字體
是調DPI，包含字體、視窗、按鈕等都會同步放大
最大可以調到200% 不可能還有人嫌小
只是要注意有些做不好的應用程式視窗可能會歪掉

P.S. I am aware of Hanns-G's quality, but I don't have cash to burn to get
   another Dell 30".It's the best you can get for oversize LCD monitor under
   budget and most people seem happy with it.

As long as you set the resolution to monitor's native resolution,
you should be able to get clear fonts. As for Dell 30" , it has two
native resolution, 2560x1600 ( Dual-Link ) & 1280 x 800 ( Single-Link )
. Fonts should looks clear & hugh on 1280 x720. However, you won't
be able to take advantage of 2560x1600, which give you an wide working
area to work with, such as viewing couple programs in just one monitors.

As for Hanns-G, I am sorry to hear they sell lower quality products
in Taiwan. I heard Acer & Asus did the same thing locally.
They should really make equal quality for everywhere because I really
like products from Taiwan and I am proud of it.
